Re: Mars

Sure, good question, I should have explained
My ZWO ASI 290MC has a pixel size of 2.9 microns
Using Dawes limit for the aperture of the scope of 8 inches, it is 0.57 arcsecs, the image scale that would be adequate for this camera, with good seeing is one I get close to with a 1.5 Barlow, since I dont have one I combined the 0.6 and 2.5

There is a good explanation in cloudynights about this here:

Also for some reason I said C-8 actually I have a Meade 8 LX-200ACF, used to have a C-11 so got confused

Looks like seeing will not be very good tonight, so will have to wait for a better night

Thanks Martin for the info. Why did you use a focal reducer and powermate at the same time?

Regards,

Bob

Thanks Bob

C-8 SCT, with 0.6 focal reducer and 2.5 powermate

ZWO ASI 290MC, 120 secs video, I believe frames of 3 msecs

Autostakkert, registax and a little photoshop

I may try some more tonight, the skies are great these days and have not been able to get good shots of Saturn this year so far

Very nice Martin! You must have been quite close to the planet… How did you capture the image?

Bob
