I'm not sure what messages Kevin is speaking of. Meanwhile, please enjoy the attached image of the Takahashi 8" refractor. One can always dream! ;-) BTW, for scale, the guide scope is a 4"........

Have heavens above bookmarked. Very neat. Are we working the 9th? I will be
shopping tomorrow morning at 7:30 with a lot of underpriviledged kids at K
mart. Yeah, melts yore cold dead heart don't it? Still I will be through by
about 11:00. Please call me and let me know. You have my cell # I know cause
of all those cute little "I was just thinking of you" messages. Hope the
therapy is working out. Call me.

Ed,

Why have you allowed these long eared, knuckle dragging, mouth breathing perverts from Jemison on this list?!

I really don't know if I would lower the clubs standards to this ...

I've heard of other clubs doing this for fund raisers, but they're
up
front about the legal standing of "naming" stars. We might as well
get
in on the act too......

Re: Astronomical League

Charter.net <ejknight@...>

William (and all others),
We did withdraw from the Astronomical League. The overwhelming majority of the members voted that we did not get enough from the League to stay in at the current time. We will be able to rejoin at any time and there is no problem in doing so. It was done strictly as a financial savings matter.

As far as the insurance goes... The AL insurance was going to run over $350.00 a year. We can get insurance much less expensive on our own.  I am working with a couple of insurance companies to try and get us the best rate.

Please feel free to contact me directly on this issue if you want

I'll let Ed give the full answer, but I believe that he determined that we could get insurance with the same coverage just as cheap on our own. Regardless, the club voted to withdraw.

This computer tells me I must register to look at the jpeg. What kind of
photo did you put there? I will figure it out later. I have to get ready for
work and then the Gadsden Christmas Parade. Yippee. The CMO looks like a
real thing, I am proud of us.
