CMO Friday night

Stephen Jones

It was a rare pleasure Friday night - dark skies, nice weather and good company.  I managed to get about 3 hours of LRGB data on both M33 and M17.

Orion 6” f4.0 Newtonian

iOptron CEM40 mount

ASI1600MM Pro camera

ZWO LRGB filters

WO 50mm f4.0 guide scope with ASI290 mini guide camera

ASIAIR pro

Astro Pixel Processor

and here is another bubble from last night

Robert Pitt

I used a C9.25 f/10 with LPro filter to get this last night. 40 subs used at
3 min each, OSC ASI2600MC). Now to try to figure out how to blend this with
the narrowband image.... Also did M33 OSC last night, but too many
processing artifacts to show, so need to redo the processing for that
one....

Bob

here is my NGC1514 from last night

Robert Pitt

I used a C9.25 f/10 with Radian Triad Ultra narrowband filter to get this
last night. 25 subs used at 3 min each. Going to try for 5 min subs tonight
as lost a lot of subs last night (originally had 90 subs) because PixInsight
couldn't find enough alignment starts on some of the images. An interesting
planetary!

Nice detail Sterling! Preserved the core too. Interesting stuff at long
edges.

Tonight I would like to go.  Tomorrow I have to go to the Bama game and don’t expect to be back in time.

Looking at the calendar, I see tomorrow night is the Oak Mt. Star Party.  (I was hoping it was Chandler Mt. Night.) In the first place.  Can anyone help?

I can do tonight too, probably, if more people want to than tomorrow.

Thanks Fred. I can see how folks spend a season (or more) on single targets (esp in light polluted areas)!

Howdy folks:

Here are a couple of pics from Thursday night from my backyard observatory (9.25 f/10 with ASI 2600 MC camera and Radian ultra plus filter). The filter is multi-narrowband (Ha, Hb, O3, S2) but the H overwhelms everything else in these. It is theoretically possible to split the bands into Hubble palette, but that is way behind me…. The bubble was about 60 subs each of 3 minutes (3 hrs total) and M33 about 12 subs each of 3 min (about ½ hr total). I am running the scope now to get 2 to 4 hrs more for the bubble, but pretty happy with this one. Fun to see all the Ha in the M33 bands….

Bob
