Re: Horeshead Nebula
Very nice Sterling! I always like to see the gap between the mane and the head which is hard to get, and you got that!

Horeshead Nebula
This is only 32 minutes of data, or 64 shots at 30 seconds. ISO 3200. I’m pleased with how this turned out. Less noise than my Pleiades shot. Maybe better processing.

Nexstar 5SE
I have a very nice Nexstar 5SE up next on my chopping block. I do not have the tripod and am willing to part out as follows:
Optical Tube: $300
Mount: $250
If you buy them both, I'll take $500 total

LX80 Multi-Mount For Sale
I paid $900 new for this most infamous of all Meade mounts. Mine has always worked perfectly, though, unlike the horror stories I've read from others. I only used it visually and only in Alt-Az

I agree.
I have been a member for many years and visited often when I lived in GA, but have not gone recently. I prefer it to French Camp and it is about the same distance. I hope to visit more after

Many members know the Deerlick Astronomy Village in Georgia as the site of the annual PeachState Stargaze. I recently purchased a field membership at Deerlick so I could join friends from the Atlanta

Re: Saturday shot of Pleiades
Beautiful shot, Sterling. Would you mind me sharing this on our BAS Facebook page? With the proper attributions, of course.

Dark Sky T-shirt
Apropos Fred's presentation, the International Dark-Sky Association held its global conference a few days ago. It's over but you can still buy the T-shirt!

Saturday shot of Pleiades
This is about 1 hour of data and 24 darks, but only 20 second shots a piece. 3200 ISO. I need to do flats though as well.

Re: November 2020 Monthly meeting
Sounds familiar Don. I have been using NGC 7243 to work on my collimation as it is in a good position and fills my frame nicely. Almost there, but just a few tweaks tonight on the tilt of the primary
